Home Tour Tuesday— the living room

Many of our friends and family live far away and can't visit us in person.
For the next few Tuesdays I'm going to take you on a tour of our apartment and show you the place we call home. I hope you enjoy!
You've seen the guest bedroom, so today we'll tour the living room (or what we can see of it!)

Welcome to our living room! As you can tell, our kitchen, dining area and living room are really one open layout, which I at once love and hate. We don't have a ton of wall space because of this layout, but we do get really great sunlight because of it.

The wall above this shelf/mantel is a work in progress. I've done several layouts with the white frames I have, but I haven't found exactly what I want yet. This spot is the most transitional in our house because I am always swapping out frames and other art. The bottom picture is of the strange cubby area to the left of the mantel. The first time my parents visited, my dad added these pseudo-shelves so we could have a little more storage space.

I'd love to get a chair for that weird corner eventually. Thanks for stopping by!

I like the new desk/table in front of the kitchen counter. When/where did you get it? Where did the white desk go?

We saw it at a shop we stopped at when you guys visited last March. I waited a week and then got it. Remember? The white desk is in the second bedroom. I think you can see it in the first tour I linked to at the top.
