TSLHT

My dear friend Amanda at Two Things sent me this thing shaped like a heart... her Scentsy candle illumniating heart-shaped light. Thanks, Jamanda!

TSLHT

Maybe three years ago, one of my friends, I can't remember who, exactly, gave me a pretty little red and blue clay heart. I put the heart in my car, where I felt happy every time I saw it. Several months later, on a return trip back to my hometown, I was running errands with my dad and sister - we took two cars because we had to drop one off - and my dad sat in the front seat. Somehow, my little heart fell on the ground without my noticing.

I did notice, however, that my dad was mushing together something in his hands as he sat in the front seat. I asked him what he was doing, and he showed me a purple clump, told me I needed to clean out my car.

Enraged, I swerved to the shoulder, grabbed my deformed heart from my father's calloused hands, and pushed him out of the car door, never to see him again. Just kidding. But I did ask if he LOOKED at the heart before he went all Play-Doh Destruction Force on it (he said no).

Sheepishly, he tried to mold my once-perfect heart into its former glory. He stuck it on my dashboard, where, after harsh frozen winters and the heat of summer, it is now permanently melded.

TSLHT

Do you remember how I used to do Things Shaped Like Hearts Tuesday? Well, it's back today!

This beauty is a horse bum, brought to you by the stone statue horses outside the P.F. Changs at St. Johns Town Center in Jacksonville, Fla. A couple of weeks ago, Aaron and I went to Jacksonville for an expedition, and we ended up walking around St. Johns, when I saw this, thought it was incredibly weird, remembered I used to have a feature called TSLHT and decided this picture could belong with the set.

If you find anything heart-shaped and want to submit a picture of it, send an e-mail to emilynixblog@gmail.com with a description and I will post it on a Tuesday!

She sells seashells-TSLHT

{personal collection}

If I get to ask God anything when I die, I'll ask him if he would lift up the oceans and let me see what is beneath them. Maybe I'll see pretty shells with pretty little hearts broken into them, like this one.

a weekend of iphone pictures

I went home to Texas this weekend and didn't take a single picture on my camera. Instead, a long weekend's worth of events were chronicled via iphone. More pictures to come tomorrow. OH! and I didn't forget: Today's TSLH Tuesday brought to you by Laura Clontz courtesy of coconut shrimp:
Awww, don't they just look like they love each other? Hokay, goodnight blogland.

Things shaped like hearts Tuesdays.

Thank you to Emily Rist(h)ow for today's showcase in TSLHT: a Wendy's nug shaped like a heart. Also, congratulations to Ms. Rist(h)ow on her new job in the Dirty South and her recent acquisition of a thug mansion. If you'd like to be featured in next week's TSLHT, send me an e-mail with a photo (original, please) of something shaped like a heart.

Things shaped like hearts Tuesday

{From my personal collection}

I read lots of blogs with cute-named alliterations for days of the week. Today I'll instigate my own. Lots of you know I have a mild obsession with things shaped like hearts. Today's "thing shaped like a heart" is strawberries.
Strawberries are my #99 reason why I love Aaron.... he hates them, or at least that's what he insists. There are lots of weird things the average person would consider gross that Aaron thinks are hilarious, but show him a strawberry, and he will grimace and whine and act like you're trying to smear poop on him. (Don't know why that was my metaphor, but work with me.)

Just got an e-mail from my momma.
I get to see her two Thursdays from now.
Yessssssssssssssssssssssss.
Two bridal showers in two towns in two days with lots of fun. I can't wait!
