{sitting up like a big guy! // beautiful homes in seaside, florida // on the seashore // daddy and son // iconic seaside // the post office // weekend jams // falling asleep to his first shakespeare // alternate thumb-sucking methods}
Saturday we took a trip down 30A for one last trip to the seashore. We spent most of the day in Seaside and then drove to Miramar Beach and did a little shopping under the threat of dark clouds. We brought all of our beach gear, but the sky was ominous, so we ended up walking the beach one final time and heading back to town. I will miss being so close to such beautiful beaches, but I am eager to come back and visit soon. We left in the morning and came back by about 7 p.m., so it was a quick trip.
Sunday we did some cleaning and organizing in preparation of the movers' arrival; enjoyed seeing my dear friend Jennifer, who was in town to shoot the Film School Gala, and introducing her to Shepherd; and had dinner with some generous friends of ours. Throw in there the fact that Shepherd sat up on his own for the first time and cut his first tooth, and it was a busy Sunday!
I am ready for this week but so not ready. Our movers are packing us, too, so I feel like I haven't done much at all to prepare. We have finalized our living arrangements and are so eager to move in earlier than anticipated. We were planning on not being able to move in until the beginning of next month, but it worked out that we will be able to get our keys as soon as we get to Nebraska. I'm eager for the next step, but a little bit nervous, too, because we are renting sight-unseen (pictures only). Say a prayer that our new home is in good shape!
Here's what my bucket list looks like so far (with a few changes and additions):
- Go to Thomasville
Go to the beach (maybe to the Coastal Living Ultimate Beach Home?)- Take a picture under the Tallahassee Amtrak sign
- Use up all of the food in our pantry, so we don't have to move it
- Go to Food Truck Thursday*
- Purchase a piece of art from a local artist
- Go to Wakulla Springs*
Have a BLA at TomatolandHave margs at Pepper's- Get Shepherd's chair back from the upholsterer
Take Shep up to work and introduce him to my colleagues
*not gonna happen
So, here is to a great, productive three days left in the Sunshine State!
