Words that stick

Via 147 million orphans and Katie of Amazima Ministries, who is my age and has custody of 14 (yeah, no typo) children:

If 8 percent of Christians adopted a child there would be no more orphans in the world.

This has weighed heavily on my mind over the last few days since I began reading Katie's blog, and, subsequently, the blogs of the ladies behind 147 million orphans.

I love this post. I want to adopt and think more people should.

Funny you should mention this today. We talked about adoption in my family comm class on Tuesday. One of the issues was religion and adoption. There is a lot of literature out there on the fact that God extended his hand and showed us grace. Therefore, it is our responsibility as Christians to extend a hand and show grace to the orphans.

And James 1:27 always carries weight.
