Coming back to my hometown with my baby bunny is a treat. And it's strange. We woke up early to go out to the trails, soaked up some sun (but mostly sat through clouds), went back and forth about taking a good nap, ate at my favorite Mexican food place, and enjoyed time with my mom and dad.
It's so nice to be at my parents' home and to have time to spend with my mom and actually just enjoy each other's company. I haven't been here for longer than the blink of an eye since the summer after my freshman year of college, and it is so nice to unpack my suitcase for a change. Of course, there is someone conspicuously missing... I miss my sweet husband and Shepherd misses his dad. We wish he was here, too!
Shepherd is bunking in the cradle my Grandpa Charlie built for me when I was an infant. It is so cool to see him sleeping where I used to sleep. My mom sewed all of the linens for the cradle for me and my sister, and they are so sweet. I love seeing Shep peacefully asleep there, and I can imagine it's lovely, if not surreal, for my parents to see this new generation of our growing family use the things that the previous one enjoyed not-so-long ago.
I'm eager to see Jillian this weekend and spend time together. I am holding out hope that bluebonnets are still blooming and we can get a picture of the baby in the bluebonnet field!
Have a great Friday, everyone!
